my mate claudia & i fell in love with these pieces of art by rachel castle a couple of years ago when they first hit the magazine circuit.

when we realised that they were created from linen & felt but cost a few hundred dollars a pop we thought maybe, just maybe we could do something that reflected rachel's style & make our own piece of fabric art.

if you are looking for something crafty to do these summer holidays try one of these babies - all you will need is a piece of linen (calico will do), felt squares ($1 each in the craft section at spotlight), needle + thread & off you go! i made my own & it cost about $30 all up including a frame from target.

the hardest part will be deciding what to say.
here's a few ideas to get you inspired:

'the tequila made me do it'
'home sweet home'
'home is where the heart (love heart shape) is'
'twinkle twinkle little star (star shape instead of the word)'
'you + me = we'
'happy wife = happy life'
'all you need is love (love heart shape instead of word)'
